SCADA

SCADA and Control Infrastructure

The SCADA (Supervisory control and data acquisition) system is central to BESS project integration, and a critical component. As well as delivering key functions, such as the Energy Management System (EMS), a well designed SCADA efficiently facilitates all other activities, for example commissioning, O&M, operational monitoring, warranty compliance, condition monitoring and fault diagnosis.

Market-leading proprietary software

Noricore® is the brand name given to Noriker's advanced plant control software, which sits at the heart of the SCADA system. Based on a highly modular architecture, it is both adaptable and scalable. It can be supplied either as a component in an integrated BESS package, or as a separate, independent scope. It provides fully unified control and monitoring for the whole plant and easily incorporates bespoke elements for specific project complexities.

Noricore layers additional protections and management onto the BMS, improving availability, and is easily upgradable over the project lifetime.

With its SCADA solution, Noriker deliver a truly superior service that supports all interfacing, construction, commissioning, and system integration works, typically earning its cost back in reduced commissioning times alone.

Secure, role-based operator interface

The Noricore UI gives operators a single, unified view of the plant — live control, setpoints, I/O and system status across the full plant hierarchy, from site down to individual units.

Access is protected by single sign-on, with fine-grained role-based access control. Permissions are granted per site and per action, on a least-privilege basis — there is no blanket administrator override, so every user sees and controls only what their role allows.

All access runs through a secure tunnel, with no publicly exposed ports on site, keeping the control interface reachable to authorised users while staying closed to the outside world.

Rich visualisation with Noriker Monitoring

Noriker Monitoring is our complete monitoring package, bringing configurable dashboards and a high-performance time-series database together into one platform. It delivers detailed, real-time insight into power, energy, availability and the health of every device on site.

Every plant signal is captured at high frequency and stored — more than 10,000 data points every second, per site — giving a complete, granular history for performance analysis, warranty compliance, condition monitoring and fault diagnosis.

These analytics directly support our asset optimisation and O&M services, improving availability and revenue while keeping data-driven decisions within a single platform.

Proactive alerting, around the clock

The same data drives automated alerting that watches the plant continuously. Alerts cover inverter and BMS faults, units going offline, drops in battery availability and loss of connectivity — the operational health of the plant.

Performance and compliance thresholds are monitored too, from state-of-charge and response performance to export and import limits, alongside the health of the monitoring stack itself.

Alerts are routed 24/7 to our on-call O&M team, so issues are seen and actioned fast — often before they affect availability or revenue.

Digital twins for faster, safer delivery

We build a full digital twin of each plant — a software model of the inverters, batteries, breakers and metering that the real Noricore control stack runs against exactly as if it were live hardware, with single-line-diagram visualisation of the whole system.

Twins can be spun up on demand, so integration and control logic are built and validated, and commissioning sequences rehearsed, long before energisation on site. That work done up front cuts time and risk out of commissioning.

The same twins let O&M teams train on a realistic, safe replica of the plant — and give us an environment for bespoke testing whenever a project needs it.
